Which is once a week, I'll be dishing you the "snarko real news report". Basically, it'll be a bunch of links to the good stuff, in case you missed it, with comments if I got the time, but just the links if I don't.

THIS WEEK I can't even follow the Gonzales/Meiers (so happy to watch her go down; she's one of those "not quite noticed" really, really evil people)/Rove (I've had the t-shirt "Rove's wife did it" up for years; maybe y'all'll get the joke now?!) fiasco. WHY MOVEON IS WRONG, from CODEPINK:

...MoveOn asked its members to take a vote on whether or not to support the Supplemental, but failed to explain how disastrous this inside-the-beltway compromise really is:

• It will keep the war going well into 2008;

• It omits Cong. Barbara Lee's amendment, which would have fully funded withdrawal by the end of the 2007;

• It gives the President the right to waive requirements that troops sent to Iraq must be properly trained, equipped and rested;

• The funds can be used for attacking Iran, since the final version removed language saying the president had to get authorization from Congress before attacking Iran.

• And finally, MoveOn neglects to tell its members how absurd it is to give George Bush another $100 billion for war when there is no military solution to the violence in Iraq.

The Democrat leadership says this is the "best bill" they can get passed, but admits that President Bush is likely to veto it anyway. We need to tell Congress to stop the political machinations and use its Constitutional authority to end war by cutting the funds. We need to tell MoveOn to join the rest of the peace movement with the clear, principled call to Congress: Vote No on the Supplemental. Don't Buy Bush's War.

FOR REAL, DO IT! If you give a shit, if you want to end this war, THIS IS THE VOTE. It's happening right now, and you GOTTA tell YOUR REP it's home or the highway, else nothing will happen.

And innocent people continue to die. And our own soldiers are sent off WITHOUT PROPER PROVISIONS. I don't care if you're a vet, a hippie--you should care. This is WRONG EVERY-WHICH-WAY. You can stop it NOW with this vote; it's way way way way too important; it's the BEST opportunity to actually HAVE YOUR VOICE MATTER this whole year.

People's families are being destroyed; most of the Iraqi killed are CIVILIAN; most of our girls and boys sent over are the POOR they just want to go to college...
